Privacy notice
This notice explains what the UK Fostering Visibility Index does with personal data. The Index is published by SetpointHQ Limited, company number 17124602, registered office 22 Heath Road, Ipswich IP4 5SA, which is the data controller. It’s short because the site collects very little.
What we collect
On the public pages we count page views, using Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies. It records the page you visited, the site you arrived from, and coarse detail about your device and your country. The cookies page sets out the exact list. This may count as personal data under UK data protection law, so we don’t claim the public pages collect none.
We count nothing inside the client area. We don’t load the counter on your report pages, so nothing you read there is measured.
You give us personal data deliberately in 2 places, and only there.
The access form, to see the dimension detail behind every score: your full name, work email, organisation, and role, and whether you asked for a walkthrough of your authority’s report.
The contact form, to talk to us: your name, work email, the council or hub you write from, your role, and the message you write. That page sets no cookie.
Why we collect it
From the access form, we use your email to send you 1 link to the dimension detail, which is the thing you asked for. We keep your name, organisation, and role so we can tell a genuine request apart from a bot, and so we can follow up about the Index and about the walkthrough if you asked for one. Our basis for the email is your consent, and our basis for a follow-up is our legitimate interest in talking to public bodies about their fostering visibility. You can withdraw either at any time.
From the contact form, we use what you give us to reply to you, and for nothing else. Our basis is your consent: you wrote to us and asked for an answer. We add you to no mailing list, and a message never turns into marketing.
Who handles it
This data is processed by 3 providers, and only on our instructions. Supabase stores the submissions from both forms in our database. SendGrid, a Twilio company, sends the email link for the access form and delivers a copy of each contact message to us. Vercel hosts the site, runs the page-view counting described above, and keeps short-lived request logs. We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t share it beyond these providers.
Where we keep it, and for how long
Submissions from both forms sit in our Supabase database. We keep an access request for up to 24 months from our last contact with you, then delete it. We keep a contact message for 12 months from the day you sent it, then delete it. Either goes sooner if you ask. Nothing from either form reaches the Index or any score.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to us using it. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
