Cookies
This site sets 5 cookies of its own. We set each one only when someone takes an action that needs it.
What we set doesn’t change. What Google sets depends on your answer, and you can change it below.
The cookies we set
| Cookie | Purpose | What it holds | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie_choice | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected Google Analytics cookies, so we stop asking. It is the only cookie you get without signing in to anything. | One word: whether you accepted or rejected. Nothing about you. | 180 days |
| client_area | Keeps you in the confidential client report area after you confirm the sign-in link sent to your email address. | Your email address, and which client area you may read. | 7 days |
| index_access | Remembers that you have access to the dimension detail on the Index after you confirm your email link. | Nothing about you. Every holder has the identical value. | 90 days |
| admin_session | Keeps our operator signed in to the administrative area. We set it when they sign in there, and nobody visiting the public site is given it. | Our operator’s email address. | 8 hours |
| client_impersonation | Lets our operator open your report area as you, so they can see exactly what you see when you ask us about it. We set it only when they start that session from the administrative area, it ends after 30 minutes, and every session is recorded against their name. | Our operator’s email address, and which report area they are viewing. | 30 minutes |
We set each of them only after a deliberate action. You get the client area cookie when you confirm the sign-in link we email to you, and the Index cookie when you confirm the email link for the dimension detail. Our operator gets the administrative one when they sign in there. You get the choice cookie when you answer the cookie banner. We set all of ours HttpOnly, so browser scripts can’t read them. We set none of the others for someone who only reads the public pages.
Cookies Google sets, if you accept
You haven’t accepted Google Analytics, so none of these are on your device. If you accept, Google sets _ga and _ga_V1RTRTXRMC, both lasting 730 days.
Your choice
You haven’t answered yet. Nothing is set until you do.
Either way we count page views. That counting sets no cookies and this choice doesn’t switch it off.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, which is why it is in neither table above and why your answer doesn’t switch it off. It records the page you visited, the site you arrived from, and your country, device type, browser and operating system. It does not record your name, your email address, or anything you type. We use it to see which parts of the Index are read, and nothing else.
